I just completed the 2010 Oklahoma State Heads Up Poker Championship Event, at the Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa, Ok.
Long story short... I made it through to the semi-final match before the last two players would go heads up for the Championship. I lost that match to a great Poker Player named Eric Crain.
As you might imagine.... Heads Up is a different animal when compared to a full poker table of No Limit Hold'em players. The reason I made it through as far as I did was because my good friend Mike "White Tiger" Woods and I have been holdng a best two out of three heads up matche almost nightly for a few months now. We have been playing online and we were not playing for money. We were playing to improve our heads up skills and beat the other guys butt!
I won all my matches prior to Eric and I going at it, relatively easily. Eric was the only true skilled heads up player i faced and i think he would tell you the same thing about me.
Here's my point.... if you want to get really good at anything.... Practice, Practice, Practice....
